2024 Conquest Coronations

The 2024 Conquest Coronations were the 3rd Annual Conquest Coronations, in which notable members of the community were nominated then voted for on certain topics. The ceremony was held on December 21, 2024.[1]

Voting[]

Preliminary Nominations[]

The event was announced by AdmiralFanatic on November 30, 2024, after a year had passed since the 2023 Coronations. Nominations began on the same day. The round would take place from November 30 to December 7.[2] Users with the most nominations would continue on to the next round.

Fraud[]

Problems arised when users starting to make deals for a vote, or a "Vote for Vote" situation. This was banned on December 1, 2024 after it had caught the attention of World Conquest Administration, then re-clarified on December 7, along with other general campaign rules. [3][1]

Final Nominations[]

The 5 most popular nominees of the first round continued into the next round, which began on December 7.[4] Voting for the second round closed on December 14, 2024. The winners were crowned at the Coronation Ceremony.[2]

Joining[]

On December 21, 2024, the coronations were officially held. Users began to join the coronations around 1 hour before it the start of the ceremony. Rasvyet and other members of Administration began to fling, bomb, and terrorize the crowd. Memes of the Coronations quickly followed. There was a chaotic fight to get front row seats after the repeated deaths and bombings.

At 1:40PM, all non-whitelisted users who had joined the game were kicked, and users had to join after 1:55 PM EST, or 5 minutes before the event.[5] The game officially opened at 1:56 PM EST. The ceremony ended at 2:52 PM EST, and the game closed at 2:55.[6]

Statistics[]

During the coronations, statistics about the game and World Conquest Discord were given before the winners were announced. The stats were the following:

  • 296 responses from the Preliminary and Final Nominations
  • 223 people that went through processing in 2024
  • 31 staff batches in 2024
  • 74 new staff in 2024
  • 6,512,526 messages in #general in 2024
  • 15,401 punishments logged in 2024
  • 291 accountabilities settled in 2024
  • 4092 people promoted in 2024

Promotions[]

YALMSL, one of World Conquest's primary scripters, was also promoted to Developer, which was announced near the end of the ceremony.[7] YALMSL helped with several updates, including the Tutorial Update, which has helped many new players and also won the award for the best update.
