BetterNotDie, sometimes referred to as BND and BetterAccount, is a former Developer and Scripter for World Conquest who serves as the current Galactic Conquest Developer. He is arguably the most influential and important user in the community. Joining in mid-2018, BetterNotDie is one of the most active users who have been playing since World Conquest's early days.
Early World Conquest Contributions (2018-2019)[]
BND began playing WC to relieve his boredom. But, he didn't spend his time roleplaying, he spent most of his time random painting on alts. Due to it being so easy to random paint without punishment and a broken vote kick system, BND began to notice how these problems occurred and how he could possibly fix them. He had a change in heart in August of 2018 and decided to apply to become a scripter for the game. He worked unpaid during his free time and enjoyed fixing the many problems of the game. He also introduced a vote kick UI, paint tool mechanisms (size, targeting, etc.), restore tool, and helped push development for World Conquest Deluxe. He also introduced the first versions for the line tool and label tool which were redone later.
Major Additions[]
BND added many important features during this time including:
-Vote Kick UI
-Paint Tool Mechanisms (size, targeting, etc.)
-Restore Tool
-Developed World Conquest Deluxe
-Line Tool
-Label Tool
The Quick Decline (2020-2021)[]
2020 was an eventful year for not just World Conquest, but for all of Roblox regarding exploits and vulnerabilities. There were raids, crashes, hackers, most of which were Roblox's fault. BND spent a lot of time patching these which almost drained his passion for WC. At the time he was the only active developer for the game, so every aspect of the game or patches were up to him. With more and more exploits being found, and a loss of joy from developing the game, BND became depressed during April of the same year. However, this did not cause him to give up.
2021 was not as eventful as the last year. BND got into drama with AgentJobo before his firing from World Conquest. At first, BND didn't have a great relationship with Jobo and didn't view positively of him. However, BND thought Jobo was keeping the staff team strong and stable. So, he began working on the WC bot, one of the most influential additions to WC. Working on the WC bot distracted BND from working more on the game, and less updates were rolling out. BND also considered quitting when Roblox became stricter on limiting political discussions, which is the entire premise of WC. (Thankfully Roblox never ended up enforcing it on WC).
CFP Raids[]
The Community of Free Painters was, as said, a huge group of free painters. They were very active during 2020 which is when BND had spent most of his time solving the issue. After many patches released, the group became less active but still held raids from time to time. If you are interested, more information on the CFP and their raids can be found here.
The End (2022-2023)[]
The monthly player base for WC began increasing in early 2022 and BND was able to make real money profit off of the game. This was also around the time BND began development of Galactic Conquest. The dev team, however, pushed updates further detailing the WC map which was a nightmare for BND to optimize. This led to the creation of Lite, which got rid of the massive monthly player base as it was now split between two different games. Along with this, when new features were implemented, new bugs would appear too. And by 2023, BND was completely demotivated. He continued working on Galactic Conquest and the WC Bot and tried to avoid the main game. But after the failure of Galactic Conquest, and the success of Risk Universalis, it was over.
Resignation[]
BND "resigned" from World Conquest as the main scripter on the 15th of September, 2023. On that day, he sent a Google Document in the announcements channel explaining his story throughout the 5 years of his time on World Conquest as well as the events leading up to his resignation. BND, however, as of June of 2024, is still in the development team for World Conquest, and mostly serves as the bot developer instead of the scripter now. A lot of the information in this article was used from that document as well as words from BND himself. If you would like to see a first person view of his story, you can find his document here.
