Introduction[]

Fail Roleplay, or Game Rule 1.1, abbreviated to FRP is defined as the act of acting unrealistically when roleplaying. As realism constitutes the base for all roleplay in World Conquest, fail roleplay is one of the main things player should actively avoid when playing.[1]

Characteristics and Examples[]

Fail roleplay can be shown at all levels regardless of rank depending on the circumstances of a supposed fail roleplay incident, with the key elements being the following:

  • Too simple, as in lacking substance or following standards befitting each rank (the roleplay in question merely being simple is not fail roleplay, this would be oversimplified roleplay (OSRP).
  • Invalid depending on the situation.
  • Unrealistic or nonsensical, with the roleplay in question having no real logic.

Some examples from an assortment of different eras would include things like:

  • Being Britain during World War Two and randomly attacking America with no coherent reasoning or logic.
  • Successfully conquering all of India as China in the 19th century.
  • The Ottomans taking Berlin after the siege of Vienna.

These are only a few examples out of the countless scenarios for which fail roleplay would be an accurate description. Furthermore, alternate history is also a core part of roleplaying, and thus does not inherently fall under fail roleplay as long as it can be reasonably justified. This was compounded by Marqret clarifying this in an announcement in the World Conquest Discord server.[2][3]

Punishments[]

The punishments for fail roleplay are varying, but generally it results in the accused player either being voided, verbally warned, having a warning logged or even something as extreme as a ban depending on the number of warnings the player has, or if they have committed other offenses which break the rules as well as fail roleplay. Fail roleplay is rarely ever used as justification for a ban on its own.
