Galactic Conquest Preview 2

Galactic Conquest is a Roblox game developed by the World Conquest development team. It has over 1 different solar systems before release, with players being able to roleplay as different nations/factions like as in World Conquest but also creating species for them and often focusing on control over several planets and star systems instead of all battling over one planet. It released at March 19th, 2023 after being delayed for a estimate of 3 years.

Past development[]

Although it is hard to pinpoint exactly when Galactic Conquest was announced, it is believed that development started around June 2020 as a spin-off of Solar Conquest, a game which had long died out due to a lack of updates. Galactic Conquest, however, was not in the public eye until as recently as February 2022, when BND announced that players may suggest ideas for the "upcoming game to replace Solar Conquest".

The game had more community input than Solar Conquest and was going to be a better version of its predecessor while not being just Solar Conquest Reimagined, allowing for the game idea to gain popularity. Galactic Conquest development was being kept tabs on, with the first preview of Galactic Conquest being announced on 21 April 2022. It showcased 1467 systems.

Work on Galactic Conquest was suspended for a few months, however it returned by August 2022; a Galactic Conquest roadmap was announced on the 22nd, announcing future intents and plans. The second preview was released on 23 September 2022, showing changes and progress on the game over a month after the roadmap. The third preview was released on the 8th of October, showing more important technical changes.

These are taken from the announcement made at 5/23/2023. Do not expect these to be entirely accurate.

Galactic Conquest 0.2.0[]

This update is expected to come out anywhere from early July to the end of August. Details on this update have not been said yet.

Preview 1[]

Preview 1 was released on 21 April 2022, showing a pentagonal layout of the Milky Way, with the player being able to browse and enter the star systems across the galaxy, where you could pick between planets in that star system using a special GUI. Once you were teleported to the planet you chose, you arrived at a rectangle of tiles (unpaintable as of that release). While some systems were promised to be real (Most notably the Alpha Centauri system), the development team said that most would be fictional.

Preview 2[]

Preview 2 was released on 23 September 2022 and introduced major changes, making the game much more convenient and detailed with the addition of moons and more planet info. The official update log was:

Preview 3[]

Preview 3 was released on 8 October 2022, introducing incredibly large changes such as a terrain and solar system generator, a label tool, and a paint tool. The paint tool allowed for the player to paint the terrain of planets, while the label tool allowed for the player to place labels on planets, being of the Colony, Mine or Other types. The log for the preview was:

Note: The Solar System Generator and Planet Terrain Generator, as of 5/27/2023 is nonexistent.

Galactic Conquest 0.1.0 Patch 1[]

0.10 Patch 1 was released on 3/19/2023 following the release of Galactic Conquest. The update was:

- Increased maximum nations to 80
- Reduced early technologies research time

Galactic Conquest 0.1.0 Patch 2[]

0.10 Patch 2 was released on 3/19/2023 after Patch 1. The update was:

- Cooldown for players when creating nations (one per 60 seconds) (does not apply on private servers)
- Nations with no land are removed when owner leaves (or when they no longer own any land), except the UN.
- Increased nation limit to 90
- When creating a nation, claimed colours are no longer shown. So you don't need to keep randomly clicking colours till you find one which isn't claimed

- Players will research technologies that someone else has already researched 50% faster - this will make technology act as more of an early game limit than an early nation limit.
- Fusion rockets, impulse drive, warp drive moved to the left of the interplanetary colonisation tech
- Fusion rockets now takes 1.5 minutes to research
- Impulse drive now takes 3 minutes to research
- Warp drive takes 6 minutes to research

Galactic Conquest 0.1.2[]

- When creating a new nation, you first pick from a list of species, or create your own species. A system can have a maximum of 2 species and only life supporting systems can have a species. The only exception is the sun, where new species can not be created. (This means maximum of about 60 species per game)
- A species can not be created with the same name as another species. If you try to create an identical one it will tell you which system it is located in.

Galactic Conquest 0.1.3 - Server hub[]

This update is considered to be the last "real" update regarding the announcement made shortly after the release of 0.1.3.

- Erase tool, resets a planet's colours to its original terrain colours. Can be used by staff and owners of the WC restore tool gamepass
---------------- Server hub ----------------
- New server hub system. You can join a public server, or create / join a private server. You have admin in your private servers and can make them public for others to join.
- Private server owners can optionally set a password for their server
- When a private server owner leaves the server, the server is closed to joining and an autosave is created.
- Private server owners can set a description for their server, for example describing the event being held, the language the server uses etc
- Banned users can not make their private servers public.

- Fixed back button not appearing on select species menu
- Fixed a bug which caused fleets not to spawn when entering a planet whilst building one

- You can now attach fleets to a planet with the move tool, by clicking the planet with a fleet selected.
- Menu now shows how many species and nations there are, so it's easier to tell if the maximum has been reached

Galactic Conquest 0.1.4[]

Galactic Conquest 0.1.4 is an update that fixed bugs, added QoL features, and paint updates. The update log was:

- Paint limit added for guests, who can now paint up to 2000 blocks per minute. (For context this is a little under half a planet the size of Earth per minute. Might receive adjustment)
- New label above paint tool for guests showing how many parts they've painted
- Increased max paint size for guests and conquerors to 4

- Fixed summon fleet UI being stuck infinitely loading. Not found the underlying error though, just made it stop loading even if there's an error
- Possibly fixed nation owner sometimes not being removed upon leaving, not 100% sure
- Fixed staffcall
- Fixed UN not having a PartCount variable after a reset (unsure if this caused any visible issues but it put out a bunch of errors in console)
- Fixed the sun (and potentially other systems) sometimes becoming unenterable
- Fixed "error" showing every time you teleported to a server
- Fixed earth and moon being shown as unclaimed until they're entered

- Message appears just below chat when someone enters or leaves your system, e.g "BetterNotDie has left Alpha Centauri"
- Joining someone through roblox will now automatically put you in their server if it's not a private server
- Earth can not be entered until 2095, to "encourage" people to go elsewhere (If you're in a private server and you want to enter it you can just change the year to 2095
- Removed a bunch of print spam so it's easier to find errors
