The Penguin Revolution was an early conflict in the 2018 iteration of the World Conquest discord between the at the time Staff Administrator Sigge and Turny, as well as numerous shitposters and a large contingent of the World Conquest discord, the conflict is one of the earliest documented conflicts between the World Conquest staff team and the general community.

Background

By early 2018, the World Conquest staff-team could be classified more as a fraternity than an actual administrative body, rules and regulations were very loose and acted in a way less systematized fashion, and punishments were rarely handed out for abuse.

When Sigge was promoted to administrator, he instituted an array of reforms to 'fix' the staff team, instituting mandatory activity reports and tightened staff regulations, as well as restrictions on staff permissions and rights in the game. He extended this courtesy to the world conquest community, which at the time was predominantly focused around shitposting and general memery.

Sigge instituted major community reform, jokes and memes were banned in #general, and created a rule which made proper grammar usage mandatory in the channel, punishments for disobeying the new instituted rules ranged from kicks, mutes and permanent bans from the discord. This, understandably, created an outrage, and turned the community against the previously popular admin.

The Penguin Revolution

Sometime in January, 2018. Turny, a very well-known community member and former staff member pinged Sigge and posted a stock-image of a badly rendered 3D Penguin. Nothing else, no text, just the penguin. This prompted Sigge to instantly ban Turny without a moments notice, Turny's banning did not go unnoticed by the community at large, and what followed next was a brutal spamfest. For three days in a row, there were at least three people at any moments notice posting the penguin image.

Sigges' response to the spamming was to relentlessly ban anyone who posted the image, throughout the three day period, numerous high-ranking members, and known members within the community were completely banned from the discord, enough so that intervention occured from the third highest ranking member of the community at the time, Head Administrator bSam.

bSam created a community poll on whether or not Sigge should be demoted within the staff team, it passed overwhelmingly in favor of 'Yes', a week after his demotion Sigge was sacked entirely from the staff team, and everyone who participated in the spamming was unbanned, including Turny, who returned triumphantly and as a hero in the eyes of the community.

Conclusion

After Sigge was removed, he mostly left the community entirely although he maintained friendly relations with Z_RG, Klosav and Arvich. Upon the introduction of the Honoured Conqueror rank, Sigge returned and was one of the first five people to be ranked the new role. Most people forgot about what had happened and over the next year he regained many of his friends lost in the revolution, a change in personality was evident. Then, out of nowhere, Sigge left. Nobody knew why. Not a lot of people know his name anymore. Although the ones that remember him mostly state he’s left the community.
