Information[]
The lobby is the primary spawn point in World Conquest. It serves as a monument to prominent past events and players. Some notable attractions in the lobby include: a memorial to the late developer CaptainObvious, the hall of fame speakeasy, an arcade, and a unique spawn room for members of the staff team. The latest lobby was introduced in an unnamed and unplanned update on 3/21/2024, with a brief public testing session attended by members of the administration and a few active members of the public.
History of Past Lobbies[]
Throughout World Conquest's 7-year history, the lobby has undergone constant minor changes with the addition of a toilet, holiday themes, and additional or removal of entries to the pre-map questions. There have been four unique lobbies in World Conquest's history, with the first being a bare minimum box with a table surrounded by multiple chairs, a door leading to various questions that required answering to enter the map, and a door for Trained Conquerors and above which skipped the question. This lobby later had the World Conquest toilet added to it, providing a popular meme for the community. While this lobby had its own Halloween version, its changes were to its color scheme rather than decorations. This lobby later saw the Trained Conqueror+ door removed in 2020, with its entire replacement by a newly refurbished lobby in version 0.5.2 in the form of a dungeon. This lobby was rather unremarkable, with a singular hallway with photos and decorations leading to the teleportation door to the map. The following map to be introduced was in version 0.5.3, replacing the brief dungeon lobby with a new 3-room lobby featuring a memorial to the late developer CaptainObvious, a UN room, and a third room with the server list in it. Later, this third room featured a teleportation to an advertised game, which was eventually blocked off by a moved server list.
United Nations Room[]

A hypothetical German Empire speaking at a Berlin Conference.
The UN Room is a major room in the 3rd lobby to be added to the game. It features multiple rows of seats, a podium, and the ability to vote on matters brought forth by other players. It was largely ineffective as a UN room due to it featuring no barriers and players able to swarm the podium.
Old Staff Lobby[]
Until update 0.5.3 members of the staff team had their own lobby. This lobby included a gear spawned for a baton, a uniform, and a cap. The staff lobby was utilized for various functions including trainings, meetings, and a room for staff to sit AFK while doing other activities.
Previous Issues[]
- Questions in the initial lobby would be bugged and closed even when answered correctly.
- The Trained Conqueror+ door would allow individuals ranked below to pass through immediately after a Trained Conqueror+.
- If a moderator teleported a user off of the World Conquest toilet, the seat would be dragged to their new location.
- Staff members would sometimes spawn incorrectly until the removal of the original lobby.
- It was infrequent but possible to spawn in the staff room prior to version 0.5.3.
Current Lobby[]
The current lobby was added on 3/20/2024 in an unplanned update. World Conquest's most expansive and beautiful lobby was released in a turbulent time, with criticisms of it being too large, rushed, or confusing for new players. The lobby features depictions of Excalibur, a fountain, multiple mountains, a chess board, and a checkers board on the first floor, with numerous photos and statues scattered around. The second floor features a memorial in the form of a statue to the late CaptainObvious, two simulated battlefields, and countless images. The entrance to the staff lounge and the hall of fame speakeasy lay on the second floor.
Staff Lounge[]
The staff lounge is a simple room connected to the lobby's second floor. It has two blue couches, a statue, and two photos. Members of World Conquest can access this room without being staff by going to their private server, using :noclip, or using :team me staff and resetting.
Current United Nations Room[]

The United Nations Room introduced on 3/21/2024 is a significant upgrade to the one in version 0.5.3. It features elevated seating, proper barriers, a reorganized voting system, and a proper way to start voting. While far more immersive, issues with the seats breaking and complaints about the post-meeting audio remain relevant.

Hall of Fame Speakeasy[]
The Hall of Fame speakeasy is found by going to the second floor and walking to the center of the room, where you'll find an exposed hole in the wall made of brick. Inside, there are many prominent members of the world conquest, both past and present, as well as old photos from the community. A room connecting to the Hall of Fame speakeasy features an arcade.
