World Conquest Wiki

Introduction

The World Conquest Manual of Style is the style manual applied to all pages of the World Conquest Wiki. It is meant to keep the Wiki clean and organized, and this article will be displayed at all times on the main World Conquest Wiki Page. If you see any pages that contradict the guidelines described by this page, you are allowed to fix these errors.

Usernames

The title of an article should be a recognizable or the most-recognizable name of a subject. In the case of Roblox Usernames, if a username has been recently changed, but the older one is the most popular, the name can stay. However, over long periods of time, or if requested by the person the article is about, it can be changed. It can also be changed when recognizability shifts from one name to another. Examples include AHistoryFanatic instead of AdmiralFanatic, the term "AHistoryFanatic" would be the most applicable as AdmiralFanatic is most widely known as AHF.

It is recommended to use the second name as a redirect page.

Bolding

For bolding in articles detailing a user, you are to bold the first mention of their username. If there is a nickname that follows the username, you are allowed to bold the nickname too.

For bolding in articles that detail lists, such as the Timeline of World Conquest, you are allowed to bold the dates. For lists similar to the World Conquest Dictionary, you are allowed to bold the words that are being described. Do not bold dates on any other article. Do not bold headings, they do not need to be bolded and it is unnecessary to do so.

Underlining

Underlining is reserved for underlining a phrase where a standard of roleplay is exhibited. Inn an excerpt from the Adept Conqueror article, you would underline all the phrases in which Adept Standards are shown.

An army of 150,000 German infantry armed with bolt-action rifles makes an assault, overcoming the hilly terrain by conducting mass bombardments on the enemy… Then beginning a spearhead composed of medium tank units towards…

Do not underline headings, there is already an underline underneath them.

People Titles

When writing articles about people, and you want to state what Rank they are in World Conquest, there are 2 situations.

If you are writing a sentence such as "5yawn is a World Conquest administrator," then the lowercase "administrator" is acceptable. However, if you are writing as sentence such as "it is led by Administrator 5yawn," you would need to capitalize "Administrator" due to it's placement directly before the name.

Italics

Italics are used for notes that are not part of the article itself, or books, films, TV series, named exhibitions, video games, albums, and art. You may also use Italics for emphasis.

Italics are also used for if the would-be section of an article has a seperate article. An example of usage would be:

Resignation of Arunsongkhram

Main article: Resignation of Arunsongkhram

Table of Contents

The table of contents on pages should be either set to automatically collapsed, or entirely removed if the table is not necessary. The table of contents can be removed on a page if the page is a stub and can be read without scrolling.

Writing

When writing a page, your point of view must be unbiased, and you should have sufficient evidence to back your article. The wiki is meant to be a neutral source of all information relating to World Conquest.

Do not insert troll content into pages. An example of troll content is "I think this is yap" being inserted into pages. If you insert troll content or misinformation into pages, your account WILL be blocked from the wiki.

Images

Do not flood an article with images, it ruins the formatting of the text. On the other hand, do not leave an article without an image. Have atleast one related image for the article.

Dates

When using dates, do not include "rd" or "th." An example of correct usage would be 9 January or January 9. Incorrect usage would be 9th of January or January 9th.

The minimum is including the month along with the year. If there is no other information, you are then allowed to only say the year. When including the month and year, do NOT say "January of 2024." Say "January 2024" instead. Do not include "the year of" before a year as well.

As much as you can, be precise with dates. If information is available that allows you to insert exact dates, do so.

Current

When you are updating an active member of the community, you are to write "As of (Date)" instead of "Currently.." Additionally, articles should be consistently updated to avoid them being abandoned for years on end.

Citations

Articles should have evidence to back statements up, mainly from the World Conquest Discord. An example of a discord citation would be:[Test 1]

  1. Tikititoy. (November 26, 2024). Retrieved from World Conquest #bot-commands.
